What a week... had a great visit from Carolyn and Steven on Monday who took me out for an early birthday dinner; Roberta and Stewart arrived from Chicago on Thursday with another lovely dinner that night; my sister Arlene flew in from Ft. Lauderdale on Friday - had a wonderful visit with dinner at home, long walk Sat. AM (even in the rain) and lots of 'talk time'. Saturday night - the party planned by Art, Eric and Beth and Ellen and Mike. Ellen outdid herself with planning the food; arranging flowers, shopping, and general all around party director. It was terrific. Lots of old friends including Sandy who flew in from Ithaca, new friends, local and out of town friends, grandchildren, sister, children...what can I say? What a way to enter a new decade (ALMOST). Memories will stay with me forever. The real birthday will be celebrated in Florence on Nov 3rd (how can one person be so lucky as to celebrate a birthday in Florence twice in 4 years?).
Our last guests left at mid-day. Final loads of laundry done; our little dog is at the kennel, last check of packing list tomorrow. Checking our Roll Call on Cruise Critic frequently to make sure that we're not missing anything. The countdown is now hourly :)
