Well, as you can see we actually left CLT and headed to Munich. However we were told that we had to check on of our carry-ons (including things that we really didn't want to check) but could pick it up at the plane when we arrived ("just like in the Us" FAMOUS LAST WORDS When we arrived 45 minutes late, we had missed our connection to Rome! AND our suitcase was not delivered to the airplane. In addition, by the time we found out that it was missing, all airline assistants had left and the escalator was closed. So we climbed 3 flights of steps with my sore knees and no sleep, down three corridors and finally found a lovely lady at the excess baggage counter who took pity on us. She rebooked us on the last 2 seats on the next flight to Rome, located out 3 main checked suitcases and put in a request to search for the lost one. We had a comfortable flight to BUT, our lost suitcase was the first one off of the ramp AND all suitcases arrived after 45 minutes :) Quick, expensive cab ride to our airport hotel, and hot shower and nap, fixed us up and everything has been wonderful since. Just wish we had gotten the name of the nice lady who helped us out in Munich.
