We're almost packed and ready to go.... Packing for this one was a real challenge - unsure of the weather (could be cold; could be warm; could be just right) and we're packing for both the time is Tuscany and the 2 weeks crossing the Atlantic with weather in European ports to consider. Oh, wait, we can't be ready to go, my wonderful family is having an early birthday party for me on Saturday night (since the REAL THING will occur in Arrezo). So, I guess we'll stay around for the party :). I'm so looking forward to seeing the friends and family who are able to come and enjoying special time with all of them. We'll have 2 days for last minute packing and closing up the house before our plane leaves. Thankfully, we have wonderful new friends (neighbors) who will be looking out for our new home while we're away.
We've been fantasizing today that NEXT Wed., we'll be in Rome getting ready for dinner and our tour of Rome at night. We've only been there in daylight and are quite excited about seeing the monuments, fountains, churches and architecture lit up!
And, on Thursday, we will awake in Rome and after breakfast, be driven to our week-long home in Arrezo, Foresteria Il Giardino di Fontarronco We keep pinching ourselves - it's hard to believe that we're less than one week from our dream. We began to plan this trip more than 4 years ago and continued on our cruise on Mercury, February 2008. A long time coming but worth waiting for.
